Well, if you don't mind the fonts in CDE being butt-ugly, you can just add
($F=/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/)
-fp $F/75dpi:unscaled,$F/F3bitmaps:unscaled,$F/misc:unscaled
and maybe other paths under the $F dir to the vncserver invocation.

I don't use display 0. I rlogin into the linux machine and type vncserver.
This starts display :1.0. Then I connect to machine:1.0 from the windows

Hi!
I want to run vnc on an old windows 95 system. Installation was successful, but
when I try to run the vnc server or the configuration program it says
"ws2_32.dll" not found and stops

Every hour? :-)
Scripting it shouldn't be too hard although you could be setting yourself
up for security problems and a loss of VNC availability if you upload an
iffy config. :-)

This sounds like it might be a problem with Sun's multi-depth X server. I
think the error is saying that it can't look up pixel value 224 (0xe0).
This is bizarre as it appears to have an 8-bit colourmap so any value from 0
to 255 ought to be valid.
