Thanks for the reply, I have VNC running as a service but I still can't use
c-a-d. Can you please narrow down where exactly I can find the info in the
docs. I have scanned the faqs and doc but I can find anything that talks
about this problem specifically (most talk about not being able to c-a-d

Well, I just did a "reply all". You could then remove sender's address if you

Is your router feeding through? Or is it "NAT"ing? MINE "exposes" only the
assigned IP address from my cable company which isn't internal to my network
in the first place. That is automatically NAT'ed to my internal
192.168.1.100. So I have nothing "exposed" anyway.

Please reply to the whole list.
Have you setup your router to port-forward 5900? Port 5900 corresponds to
default display 0. If no, do so.
In your VNC viewer, JUST put in that IP address and that should be enough. If
not work, consult DOC and FAQ. If still not, mail
Do traceroute or tracert (from windows), you can do it to any known IP
number outside you own network.

VNC 3.3.7 doesn't work when installed from TS. I know this question was asked many
times, and apparently there is an old answer from Floyd Russel. Unfortunately I use
v3.3.7, I tried to figure out how to do the same with my version, but with no result.
When I exit TS and try to connect with VNC
Install VNC server as service. For more info, consult Doc and FAQ.

Using "what is my ip address" as keywords in Google gives me these :
http://www.whatismyip.com/
http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/
http://whatismyipaddress.net/
http://megawx.aws.com/support/faq/software/ip.asp
etc, etc, etc

I can ping 192.168.0.100 (IP address of laptop at home) but I cannot connect to it
through the VNC Viewer
The VNC Server is running on the laptop and accepts socket connections.
The laptop is behind a web router (with a firewall), but I have opened a port for
remote router control, etc.

How can I find out the IP address that my router is exposing to the outside world?

So, I haven't mentioned it, but about 4 or 5 days ago my connection from
work to home quit working. I uninstalled, reinstalled, the whole works (and
what a suprise, after re-install, all of my old settings were still there --
this can't be a good thing).
What was really strange? I could connect
M$ is doing more and more to approach Unix/X window model. First with
"Terminal Service", then session switching. It seems it's going to release a sort of
thin client, probably based on X Terminal model.

Ah... that explains a lot. Because I too was able to SOMETIMES connect with
an XP box using fast user switching. But if I was the first and only I
would be session 0!
