I have a router and the firewall is switched off although I had already done
what you suggested with the same result.

I don't think
As the FAQ items states, some people have reported issues with Windows 2000
Hotfixes - these have nothing to do with VNC.
Are you encountering problems?

Hi, is there anyone telling me where's my fault ?
I can't understand why the X server ignores the vnc options

The FAQ says that on Windows 2000/XP there are reports that blue screens
occur as a result of having Microsoft Hotfix installed, with or without
VNC installed.
However, maybe the service packs have improved the VNC o
I've seen exactly the same behavior, and I'm really
struggling with it right now. So far, the wireless
connectivity leg appears to be the common piece in
this trouble.
I've tried it two ways - One all in-network (with only
a wireless AP in the mix) and one over the public
Internet, with who-knows-
I have several W2K servers here and have no issues with them using TightVNC.
Have not tried using RealVNC.

Does anyone encounter problems when using VNC on Windows 2000 server.

If you have W2K, and do not encounter problems
It wouldn't hurt to do so. Keep in mind that although it gets the same IP
each time right now, some other network device could come along and "steal"
that IP from your host machine and then you'd be unable to connect.

Hi there,
Do I have to give a private static IP (through my router) to the host
computer than runs the server. Even though the IP is dynamic now, it takes a
stable IP always.
Please anybody help me.

I believe ultravnc and tightvnc currently have this feature. (although
I think both are windows only. for this feature)
