The stock firmware with the WRT54G does NOT support this feature, which

Another thing you can do with some routers is reserve a particular
address from the DHCP pool based on the MAC address. So you would leave
your computer on DHCP, but in the router you can assign a particular IP
to that computer's NIC MAC.
So, say your MAC address is 00-11-22-33-44-55-66and you D

Heya. Here's a suggested solution: install EchoVNC
on your RealVNC Server PC. Use EchoVNC to establish a secure
connection with an echoServer that's running on a "public IP";
i.e., somewhere you can access from anywhere (e.g., the one
at demo.echovnc.com). Then while you're away, use E

Dave,
VNC 4.0 betas are very very old - you should try the latest VNC 4.1.1, if
anything.
Can you be more specific as to what doesn't work?
Cheers,

Reynaldo,
Since you're using the Enterprise Edition server, you should use the

Having trouble viewing able to view a machine. The "server" has the
"download and try" enterprise edition, the "viewer" has the "free
download" version of VNC. The ip address of the "server" is 10.1.7.200
and the "viewer" is 10.1.7.132. What all do I need to do to view the
server?
Thanks

One other thing... it's kinda built into KDE and I believe Gnome -- in KDE
it's called "Desktop Sharing" and it's really pretty simple, I believe. I
haven't done it, but I looked it up for someone on another list.

possible to do so. I believe part of that involves running the vnc.so at
boot, but I won't swear to it.

Do you mean the "actual" display on the system console, or just another
copy of the desktop software?
There is another vnc "like" tool, x11vnc, which uses the vnc client,
but a different server tool, to show the "actual" X display of the
system console. It is a bit slower, but does work. I have
