Hi Stuart,
Under the Windows Vista release-candidate builds, you'll need to right-click
the Configure VNC Server menu item and select "Run as" to get it to run with
access to the relevant parts of the registry.

Dear all,
Having trouble getting VNC to work the way it always has and have only
had success running it in 'Application Server' mode.
Has anybody had any luck getting this to work?

Have you checked the event log on the server computer? Unless the

It sounds like you're entering the laptop's IP address into the viewer,
rather than the desktop's. There's no magic to connecting to a server - VNC
Viewer just connects to the IP address or DNS name you tell it to, so if you
tell it the wrong name or address, you'll connect to the wrong co
Hi.
I just have the host OS to span both monitors, then
double the width of the vncserver, like so:
/usr/local/bin/vncserver -geometry 2560x1024
That is, one monitor would be 1280, and two would be
2560.

Hi James,
VNC 4 series servers for Windows all support multi-monitor configurations.
By default, the entire virtual desktop will be exported to the viewer.

Hi JJ,
It sounds like you're using an old VNC 3.3 series server - the VNC Viewer
3.3 for Java prompted for the password before attempting to connect to the
server.
If you upgrade to a VNC 4 series server, you should get more useful
diagnostic information on the reason for the failure.
Regards,
If VNC Enterprise edition can support serving both the java applet and
vnc server on the same port then you can do this. I don't know all the
features of that edition, though.

Hi there,
VNC Enterprise Edition supports "One-Port" operation, allowing VNC Viewer
for Java to be served via HTTP on the same port as VNC connections will use.
