The VNC viewer for Windows doesn't need to be "installed". It's
just one single executable file. Click it and run it!

It sounds like you've connected from a computer to itself, so you're seeing
a "hall of mirrors" effect - you're running the viewer viewing the desktop
on which the viewer is running.
