Hello, is there a way to enable VNC to copy accented characters (for example i)
or
German umlaut characters (for example |) between Linux (VNC Server) and Windows
(VNC Client)?

I'm running VNC Viewer on Windows and VNC Server on Linux.
It happens fairly often (every few days, sometimes even after two days)
that the
VNC Server hangs: Mouseclicks or keyboard has no seemingly effect
anymore.
When I log into the Linux machine, I see that the VNC Server seemingly

When running a VNC session over a long period - say, one or two weeks -,
strange aging effects sometimes
occur. For example, the output of text (such as echoing the characters
in a xterm or kterm window,
or text entered in the entry field of a web browser) or the effect of
clicking on a pull-down

In case someone uses VNC to access Linux from Windows, and has installed
Mozilla on
the Linux machine (preferably version 1.4.2, but maybe the same effect
occurs with
other Mozilla versions too), could you please verify the following odd
behaviour?
In Mozilla, mark some text, select Copy from
Please note that, from your previous mails, you appear to be
using a rather
old VNC 4.0 release - you probably want to upgrade your
viewer, at least, to
VNC 4.1.1.
We have not had any problems with saving .vnc files with VNC
4.1.1 reported.
IT WORKED! IT WORKED! Thank you so much -
Is it possible to use VNC without requiring me to manually enter a
password
everytime I start vncviewer?

I strongly advise against trying to run a VNC server with no password.
That should never be an option. It's one thing to save the password for
your personal viewer but it's not wize at all to open that up to the
whole world.
Would it mean that running the server with no password, would
From that menu, choose Options. In the options screen, click on the
Load/Save tab. From there, you can save your connection info
to a file
and then double-click on that file from there on.
This does not work: When I double click on that file, I get the message
Failed to get server address.
Hmm... no, to the best of my knowledge, that shouldn't be a
problem. I'm not
sure what the problem would be... since that appears to be a live IP

That's interesting. I experienced that once also, but I figured out
that .vnc was registered to my UltraVNC vncviewer.exe and not the

created and choose top Open With. Browse for the vncviewer.exe that

My Windows clipboard is not transferred to the X-Clipboard.
I am using vncviewer on the Windows side, and Windows XP. Send

On the server side, I'm running Red Hat Linux and KDE. I tried to insert
