roblem happens, the server is still accessible over
the network for file transfers.
The situation is requiring frequent trips to the remote building to reboot
the server, which restores VNC functionality for one to four days, then the
cycle repeats.
Is any of this sounding
environment where both security and forwarding ports on
the corporate router may both be big issues. You do need to have some valid
login on the machine running the sshd in order to establish the connection.

Hello,
I've little problem with vnc & win 2000 pro.
When i'm logged in win 2000 i can connect to the computer with vnc without
problem.
The problem is when i'm not logged in windows (i'v the log in windows on the
screen) i can't connect to the computer with vnc i've the error message "VNC
aut
n the putty menu, this looks
like "L5990 192.168.5.5:5590". I then establish an ssh connection and when
I run the vnc viewer, I select localhost:90 to connect to the vnc server.
But the bottom line is that the 614 works great.
Hope this helps,

David,
A

If I drag and drop locally on the machine, the cursor stays as an arrow, but
the file name becomes highlited and transparent and moves with the cursor.

Has anyone else seen this?

Hi All...
I just saw the new documentation on 4.0b4 vncviewer...
I withdraw my previous comments about ctl up/down stuff. I thought that F8
was a unix thing and so I ignored it. The F8 works great for nested vnc
sessions. Cool!
Thanks,

Hi All...
When I start vncviewer (4.0b4) and then click cancel instead of giving a
password, I get a error box that says authorization failed. It seems like it
should just quit without the error box that requires me to click ok.
Thanks,

have to play with
the alt (and perhaps the ctl) keys to get back to normal.
This usually seems to be associated with an aborted login attempt (using
ctl-alt-del).

Would it be possible to include a "send ctl-esc" option in the next version?

Action that option, and it should remove VNC from auto-booting.
Hope that helps.

Tried it with firewalls in place (as it was when it was working fine) and with
all firewalls offline, no difference.
