Adam,

VNC 3.3.x and VNC Free Edition 4 servers do not support NT Authentication.

VNC Enterprise Edition supports NT Authentication, but if NT Authentication
is configured then viewers that do not support encryption will not be able
to connect to the server.

Cheers,

Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.

Subject: NT Domain Authentication not working unless user is also local
admin

I have a Windows 2000 Server box with WinVNC4 running as a service. I have
added an Active Directory group to the list of permissions for VNC Server.
When a member of that group tries to connect with VNC Viewer 3.3 they
receive the response: The connection closed unexpectedly. If I add that user
as a member of the server's Administrators group they are able to login
without problems.

Is this a feature of VNC? Only allowing those with administrator privileges
to connect?

Thanks in advance.
