That's because the VNC password and encription method is limited only to 8
characters. anything beyond that is discarded.

That's a known issue, it's been that way for a long time. Only 8 characters
of the password are evaluated.

Read the documentation. It states that only the first 8 characters
of a password are significant.
Is this a flaw? Yes. Is it a bug? No.

All versions (correct me if I'm wrong) only allow for 8 character
passwords. The password above is 9 characters so only the
