I wouldn't give anyone information about a customer, but if they had a complaint about one of your customers making fraudulent calls I would investigate it internally. The request should come in writing from a documented carrier though. Not just a concerned individual. MARY LOU CAREY BackUP

We had someone demand info once, but he didn't cite any laws and just claimed he was entitled to it because he was being harassed (collections company). Of course you can imagine how much sand we told him to pound. In your case, I would default to no info given, CPNI or not, unless there's a

Has anyone received a traceback request from a party other than the ITG or a law enforcement agency? Is there any law or rule that requires a carrier to respond to a traceback request from the general public? A private individual has contacted us requesting a traceback based on our STIR/SHAKEN
