I figured that out after being confused by Mark's message for a while. I
don't know why it had never occured to me to look inside the mail

You can use the select feature of Pine (';', I think), then use the Apply
('A') to Export ('E') all the selected messages into a digest. The select
feature will let you select ranges of messages. HTH, FL

Pine saves everything in ASCII. You can use a simple script to parse it
easily. A new mail starts at lines beginning with "From ".
