We are in developmental phase for 5G user plane as vpp with GTP-U functionality. We are currently using DPDK Pktgen for IP traffic transmission and testing. On exploring the official DPDK site, we found that it also supports GTP encapsulated packet transmission.
As suggested, we are using set_gtpu_seq.lua Script with modifications of IP Addresses. However, found that we are not able to differentiate the Inner and Outer IP header for generating GTP encapsulated packet. On sending the packet with below script, the packet reaches upto the Ethernet interface, as per the Outer IP header, but fails to reach the GTP tunnel interface. Kindly suggest the usage of .lua scripts to generate GTP packets by populating Inner and Outer IP headers or shall I use the "Trex tool" suggested in vpp forum for generating GTP packet as well as please ensure that it will work without the above issue.
