Terminal FTP

Could someone please tell me how I can use the terminal for ftp uploading to a server for a web page? I don't really have a great deal of money to throw around at shareware products here and there and it's difficult to find a reliable freeware ftp client. For what I want to do it would work wel

hello just wondering if anyone can assist problem is with an imac machine and the on board mic. when you try to burn a disc the mic activates and goes into the mix . discouraging part is have been told that the only way to rectify this is to disconnect it internally . surely this cant be so ?
