Skype 2.6.0.184 won't open

Today I downloaded an updated version of Skype, did the usual things such as quit all applications, repaired permissions, installed, restarted etc but the damn programme won't open. I've downloaded three times now and run disc repair over the .dmg as well before opening the .dmg and installing,
