Where should I put my VMWare Fusion Windows Engine so it can be safely
accessed by multiple users?
At the moment it's in my documents folder but that's accessible only
to me.
If I put it in Applications, will that put its saved data and
documents at risk?

Yes, I strongly recommend AppCleaner, find it on Version Tracker. It
is free too, but you need to use it to remove the application, not
just to tidy up afterwards, though it will do that if you can
recognise the bits and pieces.
