Hi Ronni, I recognised that during the process of trying to verify the iPad had
somehow become not connected to the Wifi network. I simply reconnected to the
Wifi which allowed the iPad to positively allow the Find my iPad to switch
off. So this allowed me to do a proper reset and then restore

Try - Put the iPad in recovery mode and set it up again.
You can then restore your device without signing out of Find my iPad.
1. Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.
2. While your device is connected, force restart it:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home butto
Hi Ronni, thanks, well I am trying now to erase the iPad but I get into a
vicious circle I can't seem to get out of - which probably explains the
iMessages problem I'm having anyway. So if I break the loop I'm in then the
problem will probably solve itself.
Anyway, I can't erase because to do
