Peter Hinchliffe wrote that he couldn't "... use Cmd-X to cut a

the filename of an item to the clipboard. I have a range of files in
which often have to transpose parts of their file names. For this I
have always highlighted part of the filename, used Cmd-X to cut it
out, then gone to another part of the name and used Cmd-V to paste it
into its new position. Cmd-X no longer works. I have to use Cmd-C and
then Delete to achieve the same effect."
I have no problem using Cmd-X in various ways to alter various file
names.
Using G4/800 10.4.1. Tiger installed by archive 7 install.
