Hi
I have ended up with an HP LaserJet 4 M Plus printer, and am having
trouble getting it to appear under "Printer Setup Utility"
The printer has the following connection at the rear: Parrallell,
Serial, (JetDirect Module) Appletalk, Ethernet, BNC
The computer/s: eMac G4, iBook G4 both running Mac OS X 10.3.3
I have tried to test it with the iBook using an ethernet cable (not
crossover) and when I went into Printer Setup I tried to Add a printer
but so far have been unable to find the printer. When i selected IP
printing it asks for an IP address (I cannot find one on the printer
yet) or if I go to the option "JetDirect" and select the HP drivers I
get to the correct driver for the printer, but the add box is
grayed-out.
This is the first time I have tried to set up a laser or ethernet
printer.
Do I need to connect through a hub, or use a crossover cable.
Any ideas much appreciated.
