Thanks to those who offered suggestions on the G3 with the looped printer
cable. I couldn't help but smile at Onno's suggestion that the looped
cable be removed first. Reminded me of an old cookbook that stated: To
make a rabbit stew, first catch the rabbit. I guess one shouldn't assume
too much
Anyone ever heard of the printer cable on a beige G3/266 connected from
the printer port to the modem port? My stepdaughter accidentally did this
on her G3, thus forming a diabolical loop. She then started the G3.
(Makes you wince, doesn't it?) This has resulted in the startup procedure
