Hiya all, Yesterday I received an email about an upcoming music concert. No worries, I've been on that band's email list for a while.
But one of the members sent out an email yesterday with everyone's email addresses in the Cc field instead of Bcc, meaning that everyone could see all the email addresses. So I've had a bit of a go at the bloke, saying that he needs to take due care in protecting contact details. I mentioned that he should so some homework on the Privacy Act and learn to respect both the Act's and society's expectations these days. But his response was that he "should have thought about it a bit more, but how is this a breach of the so-called 'privacy act'." Not quite the attentive response that I was hoping for. So, does anyone have anything relevant that I can forward to this person. URLs, books, PDFs, explanations in layman's terms, etc? I've emailed him http://www.privacy.gov.au but am interested in what other stuff people might have.
