I don't know about the photo, but I have had a problem with that 'o'
sort of thing before coming the other way when a friend did something
in a PC font that didn't have a mac version. Try changing the font and
see if that helps

My wife has used Appleworks to put together her CV with a picture of
her in the top left hand corner.
She emailed it to me this morning and when I opened it up in Windows
the picture wasn't there and the apostrophes had been replaced with
O's.
We're using OSX 3.9.
