It is coming but not quite there yet!  For old timers who can not bear to 
forsake iMovie HD, this works.  (From Apple Support posting) 

"One goes to the crossed out iMovie HD application, right click on it, open 
package contents, then macos, then right click on iMovie HD which opens in 
terminal. No worries, just leave the terminal window open, and use IMovie HD as 
you usually do.”
But do not forget to close it down from Terminal when finished
