Yes, that did help, I can now trash the junk mail. Severin says that
spammers seem to be learning new ways to bypass the junk mail filters
as well. But, at least I can manually junk them. We will see if I can
now get junk mail going straight to the junk mailbox when they are
downloaded.

I use Eudora 6 which has an adjustable spam filter and am having the
same problem with an increasing proportion of spam bypassing the
filter. Nudging the rejection criterion up helps but I always have
to scan the junked mail as occasionally legitimate mail is seen as
spam. I suspect spammers
