Howdy,
Mac OS X 10.3.9, hence Safari 1.3 (V312).
In the last week, the other user at home has found a Safari confusion
over identifying secure sites.
This link is to her outline of the problem in the apple forums:
http://discussions.info.apple.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]@.68b08c01
We both use the same Safari prefs on the same machine and I have been
able to reproduce the same problem - specifically linking to the
member's sites of various trusted commerce sites and to a paypal link.
Needless to say, I never use Safari for secure transactions but I am
interested in whether others have found this glitch.
Some examples of sites I've reproduced Safari's confusion on:
videoflicks.com - going to the 'your account' server:
https://videoflicks.com/MyAccount/
a few donation paypal buttons, such as the one on this page:
http://www.newsfromme.com/ the button is embedded in the log around
halfway down the page today.
Interestingly, when I asked the proprietor of the geekculture retail
site to verify the problem, he reported that it was not happening with
his Tiger Safari. But then I didn't quiz him about the padlock icon.
