Well, i think that even if it is going to cause any problems, then it is an inevitable thing because this just seems to be a bug anyway. And if a bug hides some existing problems (let's say that some test checks that some element is not visible, but it actually is) then it is just good that it will come out now :) I think that this bug and all similar, which modify existing behaviour of the Watir, should just be described in release notes and that's fine.
