I can recall these times Andy being in full uniform - meaning he was
wearing a tie and in one instance a cap. There may be others, but these
are the only ones I can recall off hand.

Don Rickles.
Early this morning our own school principal, the gentlemen who announced the
essay contest on the history of Mayberry, was in a film with Clark Gable and
Loretta Young! Wow!!!

It's a book in series of books called the Southern Sisters Mysteries.
Paul, I don't know if these are the books you are referring to, but, there is a
lady named Donna Andrews who writes mysteries set in N. C
One episode where Andy wears the complete uniform is when Malcolm Merriweather
(spelling?) was taking care of him and Opie, and insisted he do so! I love the
part where Malcolm opens the car door for Andy, and then unfolds a blanket on
Andy's lap, to Andy's obvious chagrin!!!
