I think it was Aunt Bee who said she grew up in Morgantown, W. Vs. when she was
clearing the table when Jerry VanDyke came to dinner. He came from there, too.

I cannot believe it, I finally found a trivia question that the members here
on this board did not answer right off the bat. In almost every other
trivia question I have ever asked, you all answered it almost before it was out
of my mouth.
Aneta Corsaut was born in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Don Knotts was indeed from Morgantown, WV but Barney never mentions Morgantown.
Aunt Bee does, though, in Banjo-Playing Deputy. Jerry tells the Taylors that he
was born and raised there.
I don't recall Emmett or anyone else ever mentioning Mt. Airy, however Mt.
Airy newspapers can be seen in
Watching Rockford Files, episode from 1978 "The Gang at Don's Drive Inn".
Rockford was visiting a character (Anthony Zerbe).
Hanging over the fireplace was a familiar painting - "The Angelus, 1859" by
Jean Millet.

As almost everyone already knows, MeTV is going to be carrying The Andy
Griffith Show starting on September 1st, in most markets. The reason for my
joy is that it won't be shown on MeTV here in Indianapolis. So you might

tractor show in Jasper. George Lindsay grew up in Jasper, AL (which would have
been a long drive from Mayberry, NC).
