I thought this article is worth passing on.although I'm not sure about the author's theory that our famous unknown actor was a friend of Andy. I've read in other places that Andy was asked about who played Mr. Schwamp, and he said he didn't know who he was, or even the actor's name. Not sure

Ever notice that the hotel inside In "stranger in town", Mr. Sawyer come in to the desk, and goes up the steps to the left, and the steps turn to the right. But in the episode where Briscoe and the family come to meet Dud, the steps in the hotel are to the right, and go straight upstairs.
