As a retired child protection investigator, I often commented on child rearing then as compared to now. Opie, his friends and even Leon were not well supervised at times and allowed to roam wherever they wanted. I also cringe when I hear Andy say “That boy has got to get a whippin’”! it was a different time back then, but things have definitely changed.
