Last night, I watched a very good episode of "The Twilight Zone" titled
"BacK There", about a man who somehow goes back in time and tries to stop
Lincoln's assassination. The Washington D.C. police desk sergeant, with
huge mutton-shop sideburns, was none other than Paul Hartman a/k/a Emmett
Clark. I've seen this episode before but never picked up on it.

Now, a couple questions: first, just finished watching the "Gomer Pyle:
USMC" episode "Gomer Goes Home". It dawned on me - at the end, as Gomer was
leaving on the bus, he looks out the window and sees Andy, Opie, Aunt Bee
and Goober just returning from their camping trip. Why would they pull up
to the Court House, where Andy climbed up on the station wagon and started
unloading all their luggage and gear there, instead of just going back to
their house? Makes no sense. Makes a better ending, I guess.

My other question is this: I thought the only actors who were listed in the
show credits at the end were people who had speaking parts in the episode -
that's why we don't know who played Mr. Schwump, for example. Yet Clint
Howard's name is in the credits in the episodes where little Leon makes an
appearance, although he never says anything. I'm guessing it's because his
big brother and father were on TAGS??
