History Buff is right. I've captured a couple frames one from One Punch Opie
which aired in Dec. 1962 and one from Wally's Orchid which aired in April
1960. There is a definite resemblence, looks like they could be brothers.
But you can see the boy in OPO is much younger. Here's the link:

The episode you are referring to is Farmer Takes a Wife. Episode 45,
Season Two. His dad is Carl Griffith and he is seen
exiting the mens clothing store where Jeff Pruitt buys 'the largest

Here is a frame capture showing this scene.

Apparently there is or was a group (band) that calls themselves Don Knotts

Hey Jason:
Have a good time at Meyers Lake. I was there a few months ago and it is a
great time. Regarding Allans' detailed directions, the one thing that has
changed is there is now a street sign for Franklin Canyon which makes it a
little easier to find.
Make sure you check out the little
I few months back I contacted a relative of one of TAGS regular guests, Bob
McQuain. As it turns out she is a cousin to Bob. I thought you all may like
to see what she wrote back to me.
Hi Ray,
Yes, I am related to Bob McQuain. He was my second cousin. (My father and
him were first cousins.)
David, I'd be willing to bet that Lucille Ball's TV Guide cover had
something to do with the fact she owned the property (studio) where TAGS was
filmed. Probably a little inside joke/tribute.

You really have a way with the words. You really should write more. Thats an

To reply to all the Glenn Ford posts, yes there really was a movie titled,
G-Men.
It was made in 1935. Glenn Ford was not in the movie, James Cagney was the
lead actor.
However, there is a Mayberry connection and maybe this had something to do
with why the writers of that script mentioned it.
Did anyone watch the bidding last night on eBay for the authentic Mayberry
Sherriffs badge? It was fun and amazing to watch. The bidding started at
$22.00 and when all was said and done the final price was $2,025.00 !
I'm not sure if it is still there but if you want to have a look check it

Do you know if there are plans to broadcast (hopefully someone taped it) the
Celebration of Don Knotts Life mentioned in the latest issue of the eBullet?
Sure hope so!
