For the 84th time regarding TV Land, we're not here to talk about what we
hate/dislike. Remember, what you hate, someone else might like. This isn't
the forum for that.

What scene in TAGS came closest to breaking the proverbial fourth wall?
Well, there was an episode where a couple of the crew played themselves on
TAGS. Eva Kryger (sp?) comes to mind.

My wish list is short for 2011:
1. That Joe Gritton would write some script for Floyd and Bert Miller to
perform on the Podcast.
2. That Allan Newsome goes on the TV show Wipeout as Floyd Lawson.
Sorry #2, I just had that image in my mind and can't shake it.

The beginning of this episode shows the three convicts coming out of the woods.
Maude has on high heels! It would be pretty hard to walk through the woods
with high heels and I don't believe they would be prison issue.
Also, my wife swears (I told her not to swear) that Joanna Moore is
Ken,
Several episodes shot at the filling station showed an ad that was masked over.
At the top, it said, Treat yourself to the best and the part at the bottom
that was covered reads, Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco. I'm trying to remember, was
there a thermometer between the top and bottom of that

can anyone else remember Andy ever firing his official sheriff pistol
at any other time?
I think the only time Andy fired a pistol while actually in the line of
duty is when he grabbed Warren's gun and shot out the tire of the
counterfeiter.

Good job to Joe for getting Bob Denver-Denver Pyle.
I didn't even think of Tom Allen-Allan Melvin. Now that's some deep
thinking!

In episode The Education of Ernest T. Bass we had Ron Howard and

Good job Ken, but there's more. Put that bucket on your head and give
it a good think. You may well come up with another. There's a free jar
of Miracle Salve riding on this!
May I suggest a Rule #3 to our board?
Thou shall not have discussions about TV Land that have nothing to do
with TAGS
The bandwidth we've wasted over the years discussing what we don't like
about TV Land must be pretty large. I think it adds clutter to this

I'll step in a day late here to echo the words of my fellow attendees of
the 5000th digest anniversary phone conference. Not only did it go
smoothly, but Allan's video feed was an extra nice touch. Allan also
did a great job moderating it all. It was nice to hear about other

I know that the Mayberry Podcasts are mentioned a lot here, but for
those who have not had the pleasure of listening in yet, I gotta tell
you it's worth your time. I have them all loaded onto my iPod and I
listen to them at work and in my car. They are all very well done and

wonder what causes that?
Those are friendly horns. In a small town, people wave to each
I'd definitely want to see Jim Carrey play Ernest T. Bass in a Mayberry

I can attest that those long sleeve uniforms are indeed very

Well Ken, had you invested in genuine whiplash cord, you might not have
been so hot!

Does anyone else have a sure fire way to tell you are watching a first

Yes, it says season one on my dvd. Even I hate it when I get obtuse!!

Allan: Thanks for setting us straight and your control of the board. We're
coming up on out 16th anniversary of this board, and although there have been
other elections, the input hasn't been to this degree in the past. I was

Regarding Joe Gritton's comments about the workings of this bulletin board, I
just want to mention that some of us that have been around a while don't write
in nearly as much as we used to. We've pretty much said what we've needed to
say over the years, but enjoy new posts. Next month, Allan
Our mayor often uses the word cogitate when he wants to think about
something for a while. I'm trying to remember where, when and by who the word
cogitate is used in TAGS.
Let me cogitate on that a while and I'll get back to ya!
