Don't know if any of you noticers out there have heard this song by Rascal
Flatts, and maybe this has been discussed before, but it is a pretty fine
reflection on our favorite Carolina town... check the link below.

All our best from
I just got back from a conference in GA where I received an ag magazine (Great
Agriculture Agencies - Southern edition) which had an article from Arkansas.
It was written by a fellow named Andy Mayberry!!! Amazing.
Rande - Sweet Juanite chapter in Chilly Montana... Just had our first frost.
It was a '56 Ford, probably a Fairlane...

Hi all you noticers out there - I just received my collector series barber
shop/tv repair bldg. I am very disappointed in these bldgs. They are plastic
instead of ceramic and this one doesn't even come close to looking like
Floyd's shop. Anybody else have the same thoughts?
All my best to you
Ok - all of you experts: Can anyone tell me the season and episode name when
Barney wanted to get into real estate? It is one of my favorite episodes...
All my best to you and yours from way out in Montana - Rande - Trained Noticer

Ken, you would have killed him...

Man did I have a senior moment. I just read my post and cannot believe I
wrote that Andy was Ernest T's Mother figure. If course it was Helen. I
reread my post several times
and we want to know some of your favorite quotes from the show we mean
good quotes that only a TRUE TAGS. watcher would get because everyone
knows the Nip it in the bud! and ones like that. so please tell us your
favorite.
Of course I have lots of favorite lines, but one of my all
speaking of front porches - don't forget Wally rockin' on his when Mr. Tucker
went to see him about his car; and then there is the one where the couple is
fighting all the time and Andy and Barn could hear them inside while standing
on it...

Regarding the Taylor's front porch observations:
Ken, you're really something, you know that? What a master of insight - and
able to write it so eloguently. You should have been a teacher... I'd be dang
proud of ya if you were a son of mine; heck, I'm proud of ya anyway!
Best regards,
Sweet
I recently rec'd my first Mayberry Christmas series building - the Courthouse.
Those of you thinking of ordering should know - these are not the porcelain
buildings you're used to from all of the various village series in the past.
It is made of a thick plastic, so it is not what I expected.
I just returned from a trip on Delta Airlines. Their Sky magazine has an
interesting article about a book entitled Who are you people?. It is about
fanatical passion in America - i.e. Grobanites - fans of singer Josh Groban.
In the article she also refers to the unbelievable ends that Barbie
SCHUMP ALERT! I swore I'd never write in about Mr. Schump - there has been
enough of that already! But I couldn't help noticing the other night when
Warren was trying to get Otis to take up ceramic tile art. At the meeting
where they were gathered to hear Otis speak - there he was, sitting in
Last night on Discovery Channel there was one of those crime shows - 48 I
think - where they try to solve a murder in the first 48 hours because it is
the critical time for collecting evidence etc. During one of the sessions in
the squad room they interviewed one of the detectives. On the wall
As a trained noticer, I was suprised to see something the other night which
was not ever shown again. It was the episode where Barney is looking for the
runaway kid named George Folley - who was actually at the Taylor house. He
drives up in a big rush in an old early 50s Ford car and parks
Ken, please don't assume we don't want to read your postings. As I've told you
privately before, we both grew up in a very Mayberry-like small town - you in
Wisc. and me in Mont. - which shared lots of similarities to Mayberry. But
your writings are wonderful and heartwarming, so don't feel
Without question, the best song ever sung on the show has to be Church in the
Wildwood - sung on the porch by Andy while Mr. Tucker relaxed (sort of). What
a beautiful representation of everything Mayberry stands for. I had never
heard it until I saw this scene. To this day it is one of my
The Young Barnard P. Fife
Barney Fife is certainly one of a kind. He is portrayed as a nervous
bumbling man who thinks he knows everything about anything. But we love him
just the way he is.
Ken, you are a magnificent writer. You put into words many of the thoughts I
Mayberry, North Carolina and its citizens may all have been fictitious, but
there are many aspects of The Andy Griffith Show which were very real.
Ken - you have hit the nail on the head. I've always wondered what it was that
drew me so strongly to the show. And as you and I have
I too have noticed a lot of missing scenes. My favorite, which I haven't seen
for a long time is in the episode where Barney is trying to sell real
estate. It follows the part where Opie talks about the Taylor house defects if
front of the potential buyers. Barney follows the customers out
What sad news! I just heard the bad news that my old friend Don Knotts just
died! What a great addition he has been to our lives. We will be forever
saddened at this loss. But how lucky we were to have had his entertainment for
all these years.
All Hail Barn!

We sometimes play cribbage during breaks at work. We play for a penny a point.
The other day, I won by one point (it was a hollow victory) - I told my
opponent I'll take it in cash - Just like the Mayberry bond, except he was
able to pay his debt...
He's ugly, but he ain't stupid.

The only thing ever mentioned on the show about TL's job was that she worked
down at the office... unless something came out in the later color episodes
which I don't watch very often...

Maybe its just me, but as a trained noticer, I picked up on something
recently. It seems odd to me that a professional like Mayer Stoner can't seem
to tie a tie properly. In almost all of the episodes, he has the back tail of
the tie much longer than the front. You'd think a wife who
