Brenda,
We have dogs, and I've always wanted to name one Lydia. That way, when we go
for a ride, I could tell her to quit hanging her head out the window like a
dog! Sadly, I can't get my wife to go along with the idea...

Ken,
Hopefully the therapy your voice teacher is providing you is as good as the
education that you seem to have provided her. You know, your education was
worth every penny of it.

Concerning characters who served in the military, don't forget about Hugo
Hauptfleisch. Sure he served on the wrong side, but he gave Barney some great
shoe shining tips.

Unless I've missed it, no one has mentioned the time that Barney ticketed the
governor's car when it was parked outside the post office. I believe Rance
Howard played the driver.

In response to Ken's thought about selfies, Otis would most surely do his with
a jug. That or a leg of lamb.

What about the smell of burning wood as Opie added a permanent house number to
the Taylor residence? You can't take too many chances with house number
thieves.

Marguerite,
Excellent research on Barney's genealogy. Makes me want to do some research
and see when they changed the spelling of Pile to Pyle. We know from the
episode when Gomer joined the Marines that there were some pretty famous Pyles,
too.

Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts were mentioned by Opie. Too bad Johnny
didn't have a chance to learn from Rifle Fife, imagine how good he would have
been with that expert instruction!

Ken,
I can tell that you were once a teacher. Your education was worth every penny
of it, I bet you've even heard the phrase, eating speaks louder than words.

No surprise, Paul is quite thorough in his recap of sports mentioned on TAGS
where balls are used. One that he overlooked was the episode when Johnny
Unitas and Rifle Fife disagreed on how to grip a football for passing.
