According to TAGS episodes, we know that Andy and Barney grew up together in Mayberry and then graduated from Mayberry Union High. We also know that they both served in the army. However, then we know basically nothing about what either of them did until they were in the sheriff department in 1960. Of course Andy had gotten married about five years prior to that and had been sheriff for a short time, but there is about a ten year or so time span that is unaccounted for.
So my question to you is this. What kind of jobs do you think Barney and Andy had between the times that they were in the army and when they joined the sheriff's department? I don't recall this ever being discussed before.
