I have tried several times to get away from my hankerin for Mayberry but they have all been unsuccessful. Recently a friend decided to move to St. Louis for a new job and is getting ready now to put the ole homestead up for sale. The house and property are located in a small town not far from here called, of all things, - Gomer. Then yesterday I went to my grandaughter's dance recital. As they readied the stage for the presentation they moved a portable lake dock on stage and then the music began - The Fishing Hole - and the dancers came on stage all carrying small fishing poles and they sat on dock for a brief time and then started their routine, all to the sweet sounds of TAGS.
