If you've never read the book "Mayberry 101", you should. It gives little insights as to how the writers came up with names. Such as Karen Burgess, Opie's girlfriend. Or, Sheldon the bully is named after Sheldon Leonard. Usually names from the writer's acquaintances. Or, they might use a first name from one person with a last name of someone else. Maybe change it just enough so it wasn't too obvious. "No, no, no, the name is Quincey, not MacAdoo." Bee in New Concord, OH
