Mayberry Citizens In Jail This question was like shooting fish in a rain barrel. Considering that in the episode "Andy Saves Barney's Morale", Barney locked every single person (with the possible exception of Clara Edwards) up in jail. After that all you have to do is go to IMDB to check on how many times each of these people appeared in TAGS. Mayor Pike was in the jail. We are sure Nice Dress Nellie appeared over 5 times. Now old Judd and Chester Jones are a little tricker. They both appeared in double digits in TAGS, but some times they had different names. Aunt Bea and Opie were in there. The President of the Bank was in there, but I believe it was a different man than the person who later played Mr. Meldrim. If it was the same man, he appeared exactly 5 times. Not counting this episode, Warren locked up (Real Names) Hope Summers, Mary Lansing, and Amzie Strickland along with Aunt Bea for gambling. Those 3 women appeared 5 or more times, again under different names. Helen locked herself up. Goober got locked up for running a rigged contest. Floyd went into the cell with Goober (Don't know if that counts), of course Andy and Barney were locked up several times accidentally. Orville Hendricks - Mount Pilot Butter and Egg Man.
