Being a fan of old time radio, I am aware that Mary McGoon was a regular on the
Bob and Ray show. However I am not sure of any phrase that Bob and Ray used
that Andy appropriated. The only one that comes to mind is "write if you get
work".

Speaking of old time radio, Andy was a big fan of radio. His early records
play like a radio show. Don Knotts relates his first meeting with Andy in his
book "Barney Fife And Other Characters I Have Known". Don says when he first
met Andy, Andy asked Don "Do you appear on the Bobby Benson Radio show?" In
fact Don did play the part of Windy Wales on the Bobby Benson show. That was
an indication that Andy was a big fan of old time radio, being able to
recognize Don just by his voice.

Orville Hendricks - Peddling Butter and Eggs. Several times when I took butter
and eggs to the Taylor household, Beatrice Taylor was listening to soap operas
on the radio. She was so worried about Cynthia.
