I read the above and thought of an episode I haven't seen in years--Nope, I 
only have season 1, am waiting for the complete set now--and I'm not sure any 
of you have mentioned it.  And I only remember it sketchily--maybe someone 
could provide more details.  There was a dating service (out of Mount Pilot?) 
that Gomer (Goober?) signed up for.  One question was how many books a person 
read a week.  Gomer counted comic books and Andy and others were sure he'd be 
ridiculed.  But the woman who came to Mayberry was able to see the good in 
Gomer.  Hadn't thought about that one in years--and I love its "lesson."
