I enjoyed Paul's comments regarding "Barney's First Car". I would like to
add several observations. I often wondered why Barney never received a
bill of sale or a receipt for his payment. Also why wouldn't Mrs. Lesch
have the title to the car with her if she was planning on selling it? Why
was she so sure that she would sell the car that her "nephew" was picking
her up at the church around the corner? And speaking of the church, how did
they both know there would be a church there for her to be picked up at? I
know Gomer works at a filling station, but I doubt if even he could have
repaired that steering column after it worked its way up to Barney's face
like a snake. But my most puzzling question is, "Why were Barney and Andy
both asleep in the back seat?" That sure is odd. They would have had more
room if one would have been in the front and the other in the back seat.
Also how did the tow truck driver get that car all hooked up and moving
without opening the front door of the car to make sure the emergency brake
was not on or the car was in gear?
