Opie was once called Dopie. Goober was called Big Ears. Barney was often
referred to in the press as Barney Fike. Point being, we have all probably
had nicknames or have been called names while we were growing up.
Fortunate, we come to realize it is a part of being a child and we move on.

called was "Tattle-Tale". I always like "Fife the Fierce". Of course, "Mad
Dog" was good as well.

Almost every person on TAGS had a nickname. But undoubtedly the person with

As ol' Barn told Mrs. Lesch, "That's just a nick for Bernard," something hit
me last night when Barney called Thelma Lou "Thel." He called her
"Thel," Andy was "Anj," and Gomer was "Gome." Who else did he give a nick to?
I seem to remember "Ope" for Opie. Where there any others?
