Watching Christmas in Connecticut and heard something I missed all the other
times it's been on - "Nip it in the bud".   So, for the benefit of all those
who have joined the group since our last discussion, can someone please
refresh where that phrase originated?  


One source I found dates it to 1595.  Anyone find a mention prior to that
