Appleby. Also in an early episode Hal Smith (Otis) made an appearance.

I had posted that his last movie was the 1995 Last of the Dogmen. He was 81
according to my machine and I have a GD machine. He looked about the
same..just older. It was sad to hear him using such foul language though. But
it wasn't Mayberry.

Parley Baer was a beloved character actor all through radio and television.
On radio he also originated the role of Eb in the short-lived 1950 radio
comedy Granby's Green Acres, which inspired the TV version 15 years later.
