Here are a few things I learned about Goober by watching Mayberry RFD. Goober's family owned the rubbish hauling business in Mayberry.
Goober's older brother Braydon was a brilliant engineer who worked at NASA. Goober was given a job teaching Driver's Education at Mayberry Union High even though he never graduated from high school. Goober helped write a comic book story and received half of the money when it was published. Goober was the deputy and only law official in Mayberry after Andy left. Goober never talked over three minutes on the phone and used an egg timer to make sure. Goober owned a reel to reel tape recorder. Goober lived in the boarding house right next to his new gas station. Goober's life long ambition was to become an elder at the Mayberry Church.
