Watching a color TAGS this morning with Howard and Aunt Bee both running for
city council. Has anyone ever mentioned the fact that all the ladies at the
meeting with Aunt Bee have very colorful and fancy hats on, but Clara Edwards
is not wearing a hat? I am not a trained noticer with the color
In the TAGS that was on Wed. nite on TVLand-the one where Floyd wins $200.00
from Goober's gas station drawing- is that Rob Reiner playing one of the
printers? I forgot to look at the credits. And anyway, TVLand squeezes the
credits down so you can't read them.

Yes, that is Rob Reiner. He was also in an episode of Gomer Pyle playing a
hippie. And that was Howard McNear's final episode. It is bittersweet to watch,
but, despite the noticeable change in voice, he is still as funny as ever. And
it's a tribute to his comic skills that, except for that last
I was watching the episode where Opie and Arnold find a baby on the court
house steps on a local station and it was in black and white. It just
didn't look right. I know the b/w shows need to stay that way but it gave
me a strange feeling to see a color one that way.
