What Mayberry resident had the same name as a popular rock band at the time?

Well, our Sheriff Andy Taylor apparently left Mayberry in the early 80s and joined the pop rock band Duran Duran as a guitarist. But since "Andy Taylor" is not the name of the band, that is not likely what the pollster was looking for.

My other answer, would be from RFD--Alice Ghostly played housekeeper Alice Cooper. But apparently her doppleganger grew a foot taller and let her red locks go black and added lots of eyeliner to become Rock artist Alice Cooper with the hit "School's Out." Now again, this may not be the right answer, since rocker Alice Cooper really was not the name of a "band," but a "singer/frontman" instead.

All of the above came from Gomer's suggestion to think under a bucket--let me know if it paid off!

Peace,
Phil B.
