I can think of a couple of times (although there are more) of sliding across the front seat. Barney opened the door for "Melissa" to take her to the post office and Ellie slid across the seat when she was parked in front of a fire hydrant. But, what I want to know is, why did they do this? Was there a law about opening a car door into the street, or was this just for the camera? These days, there are no bench seats. Maybe just one car left with bench seats, such as a Chevy Caprice.
