I can think of a couple of times (although there are more) of sliding across 
the front seat.  Barney opened the door for "Melissa" to take her to the post 
office and Ellie slid across the seat when she was parked in front of a fire 
hydrant.  But, what I want to know is, why did they do this?  Was there a law 
about opening a car door into the street, or was this just for the camera?  
These days, there are no bench seats.  Maybe just one car left with bench 
seats, such as a Chevy Caprice.
