We will probably never know if the watch was engraved with five or 5.If someone
had really
wanted to mess with Barney's head,the engraving could have appeared as
5ive.Just a thought.

My take is that the numeral 5 was engraved. Otherwise, when Barney looked at
the back, if it had said Five he would have blurted out They never spell my
name right. He might have assumed they meant Fife.
